Exchange-traded funds tracking the Internet sector were among the top performers Friday, as several individual names supported a jump in the tech sector.
Internet stocks were led higher by a 3.6% gain in BEA Systems (BEAS Quote). Elsewhere, VeriSign (VRSN Quote) was up 2.1%, Google (GOOG Quote) was higher by 1.6%, and EarthLink (ELNK Quote) tacked on 1.3%.
The Internet Infrastructure HOLDRs (IIH Quote) was the best performer of the Internet ETFs, recently up 12 cents, or 2.4%, to $5.17. The First Trust Dow Jones Internet Index (FDN Quote) was higher by 18 cents, or 0.7%, at $25.62. The Internet HOLDRs (HHH Quote) was climbing 17 cents, or 0.3%, at $61.39. ...
