Shares of Helen of Troy(HELE Quote) were among the Nasdaq's winners Friday, jumping 13.8% after the personal care products company posted better-than-expected fourth-quarter results.
For the quarter ended Feb. 28, the company earned $9.7 million, or 30 cents a share, on revenue of $143.9 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expected earnings of 27 cents a share on revenue of $138.2 million. During the year-earlier quarter, the company earned $6.6 million, or 21 cents a share, on revenue of $134.5 million.
Looking ahead, Helen of Troy continues to see fiscal 2008 earnings of $2 a share on revenue that will be more than $660 million. Analysts project earnings of $1.97 to $674.5 million. Shares closed up $3.07 to $25.30. ...
