Monday's Late Winners & Losers

With the tech sector's earnings deluge having slowed to a trickle, other industries -- specifically, the health sector -- had room to make some waves in after-hours trading on Monday.

One such name was Wright Medical Group (WMGI Quote), which gained 5.5% to $24.91 after posting first-quarter earnings of $3.2 million, or 9 cents a share -- 2 cents higher per share than last year and flush with Wall Street estimates, according to Thomson Financial. The Arlington, Tenn., maker of orthopedic medical devices also reported better-than-expected sales and lifted the top and bottom lines of its 2007 outlook.

Cincinnati-based hospice-care outfit Chemed (CHE Quote) said adjusted income surged 58.7% year over year to 73 cents a share. The company -- which also operates a plumbing unit, Roto-Rooter -- jumped $3.70, or 7.4%, to $54. ...
