China Stocks Climb

Stocks in Asia were mixed Monday, sinking in Japan but getting a big lift in mainland China.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 slid 1.5% to 17,028, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng edged ahead by 0.04% to 19,810. China's CSI 300 was up 2.5% at 2850. Taiwan's Taiex was little changed at 7885.

Elsewhere, South Korea's Kospi and Singapore's Straits Times Index each gained 0.5%, but the Sensex 30 in India slumped 4.7%. Australia's All Ordinaries dropped 1.2% to 5908. ...
