Shares of OpenTV(OPTV Quote) were among technology's losers Friday, sliding 6% after the television technology firm posted a wider-than-expected fourth-quarter loss.
The company reported a loss of $3.4 million, or 3 cents a share, on revenue of $26.7 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expected a loss of a penny a share and revenue of $25.7 million. In the year-earlier period, OpenTV earned $2.9 million, or 2 cents a share, on revenue of $24.2 million. The year-earlier results included an investment gain of $3.1 million. Shares of OpenTV were trading down 17 cents to $2.53.
Actions Semiconductor(ACTS Quote) slid 4% after the China-based chip designer cut its first-quarter earnings and revenue forecasts. The company now anticipates earnings of 14 cents to 17 cents a share, with revenue of $29 million to $32 million. Previously, the company forecast earnings of 15 cents to 19 cents a share and revenue of $34 million to $37 million.
