Asia's Markets Climb
Stocks in Asia were almost uniformly higher overnight Monday, but the gains failed to carry through to Europe's trading sessions.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 was up 0.8% at 17,292, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 1.6% to 19,442. Mainland China's Shanghai and Shenzhen 300 Index was ahead by 0.2% at 2616, and Taiwan's Taiex climbed 0.8% to 7629.
South Korea's Kospi was stronger by 1.3%, and Singapore's Straits Times Index gained 1.2%. India's BSE Sensex edged up 0.1%. ...
