Advanced Magnetics (AMAG Quote) surged 31% after the company reported positive results from a late-stage clinical trial of ferumoxytol as an intravenous iron-replacement therapy in kidney disease patients. Shares of Advanced were higher by $13.72 to $57.62.
Shares of Jinpan International (JST Quote) jumped after the company posted third-quarter earnings of $2.1 million, or 32 cents a share, on sales of $23.4 million. The company hasn't announced its quarterly results prior to this year. Jinpan was up 24% to $16.76.
First Solar (FSLR Quote) rose nearly 24% following its initial public offering of 20 million shares. The shares were priced at $20 each and rose $4.74 to $24.74 on the first day of trading. ...
