Gehl(GEHL Quote) was one of Monday's small-cap winners as the Wisconsin-based construction- and agricultural-equipment maker reported higher third-quarter earnings. Looking ahead, the company reaffirmed its full-year guidance for earnings from continuing operations of $2.20 to $2.30 a share on revenue of $485 million to $495 million. Shares were trading up $3.23, or 11.9%, to $30.44.
Bristol West Holdings(BRW Quote) gained after the Davie, Fla.-based property and casualty insurance company was upgraded by Stifel Nicolaus to hold from sell. Shares were gaining 52 cents, or 3.8%, to $14.16.
Arch Chemicals(ARJ Quote) rose after the Norwalk, Conn.-based company beat Wall Street's third-quarter earnings expectations. Arch also said it expects full-year sales to increase about 7% to 9% and earnings from continuing operations to range from $1.60 to $1.70 a share. Analysts are looking for earnings of $1.69 a share.
