Charter Communications(CHTR Quote) won't pay a dividend on its preferred stock for the first quarter, saying it's unsure if there's adequate surplus available under Delaware law. In a federal filing, the company said it couldn't quantify the impact of the development on its future fund-raising capability. The stock was down a penny, or 0.6%, to $1.59 after the close.
Barr Laboratories(BRL Quote) announced that a New York Federal court has ruled in its favor in an antitrust class-action lawsuit involving the antibiotic Cipro. The court rejected plaintiffs' claims that a 1997 settlement with Bayer(BAY Quote) violated antitrust and consumer protection laws by delaying the release of a generic version of Cipro. Barr Labs was up 13 cents, or 0.27%, to $48.96 in after-hours trading.
