Wrong! Tactics and Strategies

JJC's Not Done With DSL

At 3:30 this morning I plugged in my email and found 240 messages about DSL. I said to myself, darn it all, I have struck gold for all of us. This is the issue that we can work on together to make money. This will be a prototype of what I expect RealMoney to evolve into: a real-life lab to make money.

It seems that there is a massive rollout of DSL nationwide (all but parts of New England I am afraid), but it is spotty and extremely compromised. My poll, however, left out two choices that screwed it all up. I am asking for patience here, but I need you to fill it out again with better choices because my methodology was so darned flawed. I left out two key variables that made it so we can't make as much money as we would like.

The new choices are below and I will fill you in later today about how I think we can make the most money off this. One hint: As bad as SBC Communications (SBC) is, we are continuing to buy it because, well, it's better than everybody else on the RBOC, or Regional Bell Operating Company, side. Not much of an endorsement but it will trade higher in a slowdown anyway.

Here goes -- for the last time: When it comes to this issue: I have DSL, RBOC I have DSL/non-RBOC (CLEC) I chose cable modem over DSL I have cable, can't get DSL Can't get either

Again, I apologize as I hate to waste anybody's time, but I can't draw the conclusions I want to reach without more info and I am confident we can make money here on this stuff. (Old timers, doesn't this remind you of the way Motley Fool was when you could still smoke out good longs by polling a great group around the country?)
