StarMedia Network Leaps on Financing, Venture

 

StarMedia Network (STRM Quote) was up 44.3% after the company said late Wednesday it had received $36 million in investments from BellSouth (BLS Quote), Primedia (PRM Quote), JP Morgan Partners and private investors.

The Spanish and Portuguese Internet media company also announced a deal with BellSouth to created a co-branded Web portal accessible to mobile users.
