Filing your taxes at the last minute? Don't forget the obvious. Many last minute filers are so stressed out that they forget to sign their tax return, include their Social Security number or even put a stamp on the envelope.

Other common last minute tax mistakes include choosing the incorrect filing status, basing your information on data from incorrect W-2 or 1099 forms and bank statements, not claiming the wages you made for a company that went out of business and didn't send you a W-2 form, and overpaying your Social Security tax if you had more than one job in a year.
