Why This Metric Matters
Keynote measures how fast investors can get around online brokers' Web sites and how reliable those sites are. It does not measure how well and how fast trades are executed. Readers should use this metric as a guide to which broker is doing the best job of helping investors navigate its site, not which is best at trade execution.

Historical Info
Keynote has been keeping track of this metric since June 1999. In August 1999, CSFBdirect.com became the fastest broker site. In early 2001, however, Brown & Co. started making inroads into CSFBdirect's dominance. Brown & Co. has been No. 1 on several occasions in early 2001.
