3D Systems to Acquire DTM for $45 Million

 

3D Systems (TDSC Quote) plans to acquire DTM (DTMC Quote) in a cash transaction valued at about $45 million.

In recent Nasdaq trading, shares of DTM jumped 42.1%, rising $1.50 to $5.06, while 3D Systems fell 75 cents, or 6.9%, to $10.31. DTM's 52-week high is $6.25.

3D Systems, which expects to close the acquisition in June, will pay $5.80 in cash for each of DTM's 7.1 million common shares outstanding. The boards of both companies approved the merger.

DTM, which designs prototyping and tooling systems that are used to make parts and patterns, will maintain its headquarters in Austin, Texas. 3D Systems, Valencia, Calif., makes three-dimensional imaging systems that product manufacturers use to create physical objects.
