Argentina vs. Germany: Which is the Champion of Life?

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Argentina narrowly beat Netherlands with a final score of 4-2 in overtime penalty kicks to advance to the World Cup Finals, to face off against Germany in a match to prove which country is the best in the world. While bookies will be pulling in the bets, we have slightly different criteria for comparing the two great nations.

Best alcohol

Germany: Oettinger has been Germany's best-selling beer for a decade. That's a big honor in a nation renowned for its beer halls and frothy brews in steins.

Argentina: Argentina's most popular beer Cerveza Quilmes also owes a lot to Germany with the brewery having been founded by German immigrant Otto Bemberg.

Win: Argentina. Its most popular beer has a German taste but with the benefit of warm weather.

Best food

Germany: Bratwurst and sauerkraut

Argentina: Empanadas and polenta

Win: Argentina. Fried bread stuffed with meat is delicious.

Best brands

Germany: Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Adidas, Bayer

Argentina: Tenaris S.A., Petrobras Energia, Telecom Argentina

Win: Germany. It's slim pickings for a well-known brand in Argentina.

Most sex

Germany: Current population of Germany is around 82.68 million. For every 1,000 people, Germany sees 8.42 births and 11.29 deaths.

Argentina: Current population of Argentina is around 43 million. For every 1,000 people, Argentina sees 16.88 births and 7.34 deaths.

Win: Argentina.

Best economy

Germany: Europe's largest economy boasted 2013 GDP of $3.2 trillion, a 0.9% annual growth rate, unemployment of 5.5%, wealth per capita of $39,028 and a 2.1% inflation rate.

Argentina: This South American nation had 2013 GDP of $771 billion, a 3.5% annual growth rate, unemployment of 7.5%, wealth per capita of $18,600 and a 20.8% inflation rate.

Win: Germany. High unemployment and the sixth highest rate of inflation in the world hinder Argentina's economy.
