“Community facing and consumer preference were our top priorities,” said Omar Hussein, Senior Leasing Agent at Regency Centers. “The opportunity to give this center the updates it needed finally presented itself. We felt it was time to reevaluate what the existing needs of the local community were.” Regency Centers (NYSE: REG), a grocery-anchored developer of community shopping centers, is pleased to welcome Torrance Memorial and Hermosa Beach Fish Shop to Plaza Hermosa.

Torrance Memorial’s new facility, which is scheduled to open this fall, will specialize in primary care and pediatrics. As the specialties of the office continue to expand, their services will continue to grow to meet the needs of the surrounding area. Convenient entrances from both Pier Avenue and the Ardmore Avenue garage will provide ample parking to service the extended office hours.
“Not only will residents have convenient access to top quality physicians close to home,” added Heidi Assigal, Senior Director, Planning and Development at Torrance Memorial Health System, “but we have taken great care to create a beautiful and comfortable office experience that blends well with the beach community.”
Accompanying Torrance Memorial is the Hermosa Beach Fish Shop, which replaced the restaurant space previously occupied by The Counter Burger. This quality-focused fresh fish and craft microbrew beer establishment has established a cult following in Pacific Beach (San Diego) in only four years of operation. The new location at Plaza Hermosa will take advantage of their proximity to the beach, as well as the abundance of parking and outdoor seating provided to the site.
“By introducing new wellness oriented concepts to the center, we wanted to focus on delivering healthy options aimed to support the active Hermosa Beach lifestyle. Creating a complementary, one stop shopping experience for the local community is our overall merchandising philosophy,” said Hussein.
