NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Bank of America (BAC) closed down 2.07%, or 33 cents, to $15.59 on Wednesday after reports that the bank and the Department of Justice had reached a roadblock in their ongoing negotiations over a multi-billion dollar settlement deal.
The New York Times reported the negotiations halted Monday after Bank of America's latest offer came up well short of prosecutors' demands. The offer of $12 billion is to settle state and federal investigations into the banks' sale of mortgage investments that subsequently fell apart.
