Elsevier's 100th open access title now available on ScienceDirect
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and solutions, today announced the launch of a new open access journal:
Case Reports in Women's Health.
Case Reports in Women's Health publishes open access case reports covering all aspects of women's health. The scope reflects the comprehensive nature of women's health and includes not only the core areas of obstetrics and gynecology, but also the key subspecialty areas.
Stephen L. Corson said, "We believe that case reports serve a vital function in the literature by acting as 'the canary in the coal mine'. Case Reports are detailed medical reports of the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of an individual patient. They often contain a demographic profile of the patient and describe a unique or novel occurrence. Many emerging diseases and conditions caused by a physician or healthcare environment due to exposure to pathogens, toxins or harmful procedures first appeared as case reports. Our aim is to be the most comprehensive source of informative case reports for busy clinicians and professionals in the diverse and growing field of women's health."
Stephen L. Corson is Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at
Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine,
USA and Editor Emeritus of Elsevier's
Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. He is supported by a team of eight editors who are leading experts in their specialties.
Greyling Peoples, the Publisher responsible for Elsevier's Women's Health journal portfolio, said, "Our program aims to publish the best research and clinical developments in the field of women's health, and continue to make this content universally accessible, offer new publishing options for our authors.
Case Reports in Woman's Health is a great addition to the program."
