Manning & Napier, Inc. (NYSE:MN), (“Manning & Napier” or “the Company”) today announced the formalization of a dedicated Defined Contribution Investment Only (”DCIO”) wholesaler team to complement its longstanding presence in this growing market segment and enable the Company to better address the needs of retirement advisors and the plans they serve.
The creation of the dedicated DCIO wholesaler team is a reflection of increased momentum in the DCIO market, currently estimated at $2.8 trillion, and expected to grow to over $4.0 trillion by 2018, according to recent data by Strategic Insight. The Company currently manages approximately $12 billion in defined contribution assets and $24 billion in multi-asset class portfolios (03/31/2014), across a variety of mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and collective investment trust funds.
“Manning & Napier is a longstanding, proven leader in the DC market, and one of the first in the industry to offer life cycle funds,” said Patrick Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer. “This recent allocation of DCIO resources reinforces our commitment to helping retirement plan advisors better service and support their clients. Above all, our priority is helping advisors to manage real-world risks faced across the broader DC environment, and best meet the needs of their clients.”
Manning & Napier has more than 40 years of experience working with retirement plans and a long legacy of offering defined contribution solutions. The Company first began using risk-based separate accounts with DC plans in 1988, and offered its first life cycle mutual fund to participant-directed plans in the early 1990s.
