Soon You'll Be Able to Fly the Four Seasons

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The Four Seasons is not at all shy about making bold, innovative moves to showcase what it has to offer as a luxury hotelier.

Highlights of the hotel chain's imaginative efforts over the past year or more include the Four Seasons' FS Taste food truck, which went on a multi-state tour serving gourmet food prepared by Four Seasons chefs; the Pin.Pack.Go board on Pinterest, which reinvented the way luxury travelers research and receive information when organizing a vacation; and the Four Seasons virtual wine tasting program on Twitter.

Now, the Four Seasons is embarking on another innovative move: launching the hotel industry's first fully branded private jet.

The completely retrofitted Boeing 757 will have Four Seasons painted on the fuselage and the iconic Four Seasons logo on the plane's tail.

And beginning in February, the Four Seasons Jet will transport up to 52 guests on bespoke journeys, according to a press release from the luxury hotel company.

"Taking our legendary service to the skies is a natural extension of what we've been doing in our hotels for more than 50 years," Susan Helstab, Four Seasons' executive vice president for marketing, says in the release. "The Four Seasons Jet showcases the unforgettable people and experiences that make Four Seasons unique. It speaks to our pioneering spirit and the aspirations of today's modern luxury traveler in an imaginative new way."

Helstab was not available for comment beyond the press release.

The luxe, private 757 will feature interior and exterior design customized by the company's team of design experts. Some of the finer details include individually handcrafted leather flatbed seats, globally inspired cuisine and global in-flight Wi-Fi.

The fully branded private jet is not an entirely surprising move from the luxury hotel company, which in 2012 began offering private, around-the-world, jet vacations focused exclusively on stays at Four Seasons properties. Putting the company's name on a jet almost seems a natural extension.

The move is about better serving the company's guests, Helstab goes on to say in the release.

"The decision to offer one-of-a-kind trips aboard a custom-designed Four Seasons Jet reflects an understanding of our guests' evolving needs and preferences," she says. "It recognizes their desire to pair adventure and discovery with the luxury of a fully immersive Four Seasons experience."

The company has begun taking reservations for the Four Seasons Jet for a handful of its pricey trips, including:

  • Around the World, February A 24-day, nine-destination trip that begins in Los Angeles, ends in London and includes an only-by-private-jet stop at the Taj Mahal.
  • Backstage with the Arts, April This 16-day trip includes visits to six cities and behind-the-scenes visits to Europe's museums, performances at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Estates Theatre in Prague and a private gala in the Pavlovsk Palace outside St. Petersburg.
  • Around the World, August 2015 This 24-day globe-circling expedition includes stops in nine destinations as well as stays in three of the newest Four Seasons hotels and the brand's very first safari lodge in the Serengeti.

A 24-day trip around the world costs $119,000 per person.

If flying on the Four Seasons Jet with 50 other passengers is still not private enough for you, the jet and accompanying staff and crew may also be chartered privately.
