NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- AT&T (T - Get Report) is due to report earnings after the bell Tuesday. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters anticipate net income of 70 cents a share and $32.4 billion in revenue over the three months to March.
In the year-ago quarter, the telecommunications company recorded 64 cents a share in net income and revenue of $31.4 billion.

- T's revenue growth has slightly outpaced the industry average of 1.0%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly increased by 1.8%. Growth in the company's revenue appears to have helped boost the earnings per share.

Compared to other companies in the Diversified Telecommunication Services industry and the overall market, AT&T INC's return on equity exceeds that of both the industry average and the S&P 500.
