NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Kraft Foods (KRFT) has issued a recall for 96,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer hot dogs after discovering that packages labeled as "Classic Wieners" actually contained "Classic Cheese Dogs."
Kraft Foods has issued a recall for 96,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer hot dogs for mistakenly containing cheese.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, Kraft's "Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners" may actually contain its "Classic Cheese Dogs" instead due to a packaging error. Due to the mislabeling, ingredients like milk, which is an allergen, are not displayed on the packaging. The hot dogs were produced on March 2 and 3 and are marked with the establishment number 537H on the inside of the packaging. They were distributed to retail store nationwide.
