QONNECTIONS 2014 GLOBAL PARTNER SUMMIT – Qlik (NASDAQ: QLIK), a leader in user-driven Business Intelligence (BI), today announced that a record number of partner attendees are on hand to kick off Qonnections 2014, Qlik’s annual Global Partner Summit being held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
What: Qonnections, which has brought the global Qlik partner community together for nine years, welcomes more than 1200 attendees from around the world to the three-day event to share best practices for sales and support of the QlikView Business Discovery platform. Attendees will also discover how they will play a transformational role in Qlik’s strategic roadmap to disrupt the BI industry once again with its next-generation platform powered by Natural Analytics™.
New at Qonnections 2014, is Qlik’s inaugural Qlik Hackathon, which is sponsored by Qlik partners Gnip and HP Vertica. Teams will be presented with several challenges involving the international humanitarian organization MedAir, an international humanitarian aid agency providing help for populations affected by natural disasters or conflict and a Qlik “ Change Our World” grant recipient and partner. Developers must use web skills, data, and QlikView.Next to achieve new insights and/or visualizations that best address the challenge. Every Hackathon participant will have hands-on access to QlikView.Next and its new capabilities in web integration, with ‘live’ enablement and support from internal QlikView experts moderating the event.
Qlik will also open its doors to the first Midnight Madness contest. Midnight Madness is a contest that has been created to discover the very best app building skills, visualization greatness and development talent, using QlikView 11 capabilities and functionalities. Contestants will form teams of two, three, or four developer fanatics, demo experts, or app magicians that are ready to push the boundaries on a user adoption business scenario. Each team will be provided with a business scenario, a QlikView file, clear requirements and the challenge to create the ultimate user-driven Business Discovery app – all within the four-hour Midnight Madness timeframe.
