In the wake of Yahoo!'s (YHOO Quote - Cramer on YHOO - Stock Picks) forecast of grim tidings ahead, we move deeper into the all-important earnings season. Thus far, the tone has been tough for technology companies. And more important technology companies will face the public this coming week, including Intel (INTC Quote - Cramer on INTC - Stock Picks) and Microsoft(MSFT Quote - Cramer on MSFT - Stock Picks).
As ever, we'll be there for you, tracking the latest earnings news, putting all the elements of these reports into perspective. We're tracking this earnings season very carefully, trying to divine where the market strengths and weaknesses are, doing our best to decipher what the coming months will look like. Right now, it's not a pretty picture, but we'll be sifting all the information, looking for the glimmers of good news along with outlining what seems particularly ugly. Do you trade three or four times a month? Then by some definitions you're an active trader, and mainstream brokers like Schwab and Fidelity want your business. But which ones deserve it? Check out Mark Ingebretsen's ongoing series comparing the active trader offerings at mainstream brokers. If mutual funds are your thing, What Works columnist Jamie Heller has come out with her assessment of which online broker is best for you. See the best and worst here and let her know if you agree. I'm very excited about a new area we rolled out in the last few weeks: TSC Metrics. In Metrics, we pull together the market sentiment indicators, sector measures, and stock facts and figures you need to make better decisions. It's updated daily, bringing you the latest numbers. Please take a whirl and send your thoughts to Mark Martinez, our Metrics editor. Finally, if you haven't yet had a chance, check out our new book, TheStreet.com's Guide to Smart Investing in the Internet Era. It covers all the things you need to know to become an even wiser investor. If you've got comments, questions or concerns, don't hesitate to email me at dave.kansas@thestreet.com. I'll make sure your issues get addressed. Get ready for more earnings rock-em' sock-em' this week on TheStreet.com! L'Etoile du Nord Dave KansasEditor-in-Chief
