/PRNewswire/ -- People to People Ambassador Programs , the leader in global educational travel experiences, has announced a unique travel program in Summer 2014 to France and Italy that marries the best of People to People's premier educational travel programs with exclusive access to some of Europe's most renowned cooking schools and chef extraordinaires.
People to People's culinary program to Europe – "
Focus: Culinary Arts of France and Italy
starts in Paris with classes at the world famous Cordon Bleu cooking school, shopping at local French open air markets along with stops at iconic destinations such as Versailles and the Eiffel Tower.
"We are extremely excited to add a culinary program to our growing line up of
," said Vice President of Travel Services Nicola Balmain. "Food, cooking and local cuisine are often at the root of cultural exchange. Knowing the history of how and why cuisine is made in each country and region is key to our students' deeper understanding of the French and Italian culture and its people. This is combined with training from some of Europe's top chefs."
From Paris, students travel south to the Mediterranean coast for delicacies of Provence, and a cooking lesson with renowned Chef Christophe Guibert, former head chef of the Michelin starred restaurant Laperouse. There will also be free time to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
In Italy, students will be immersed in the best Italian cuisine and culture. The day starts early in Florence with shopping at the San Lorenzo produce and seafood market, where students will pick the fresh ingredients they will be cooking later that day in class with Italian cooking experts. The delegation will then head south to the ancient city of Rome for more time in the kitchen with Italy renowned chef Giovanni Giammarino.
"I am very glad to welcome the People to People Student Ambassadors in Rome for their unique cooking lesson," said Giovanni Giammarino, "I will teach them the secrets of the delicious Roman cuisine and show them how to prepare Italy's most famous culinary masterpiece: pasta. I will teach them the process from market to table so they will be able to repeat the preparation with their families at home."
The twelve day culinary programs are open to students between 6-12 th grade, with departures in early July. For more information about "Culinary Arts: France and Italy" and other People to People programs visit:
