ATHENS, Greece, Feb. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Diana Containerships Inc. (Nasdaq:DCIX), (the "Company"), a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of containerships, today announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party the 1995-built vessel "APL Sardonyx" (to be renamed "Sardonyx") for demolition, with delivery due to the buyers by the end of February, 2014, for a sale price of approximately US$10.0 million before commissions.
Upon completion of the aforementioned sale, Diana Containerships Inc.'s fleet will consist of 8 container vessels (2 Post-Panamax and 6 Panamax). A table describing the current Diana Containerships Inc. fleet can be found on the Company's website,
