Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SPB) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.30 per share on the Company’s common stock, which is an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share.
The dividend, which is a regular taxable cash dividend, is payable on March 18, 2014 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on February 19, 2014.
“This dividend increase reflects our Company’s consistent and ongoing ability to generate strong free cash flow and reinforces our commitment to deliver attractive returns to our shareholders,” said Dave Lumley, Chief Executive Officer of Spectrum Brands Holdings. “We expect our fiscal 2014 free cash flow to increase significantly to at least $350 million from $254 million in fiscal 2013 and $208 million in fiscal 2012. We will continue to evaluate the opportunity in future years to increase our dividend further based upon the growth of our free cash flow.”
Spectrum Brands initiated a common stock quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share in March 2013 following the payment of a one-time, special dividend of $1.00 per share in September 2012.
