Ms. Else-Mitchell was also instrumental in facilitating Scholastic Education's development of a professional services business from 2005-2007.
In her new position as EVP of Scholastic Education, Ms. Else-Mitchell will oversee the creation and development of print-based, blended learning, and technology products and services for the pre-K to 12 education market. As Publisher, Global Education, she will also be responsible for creating a global roadmap for the company's education products, seeking out synergies between international and U.S. needs. Ms. Else-Mitchell will collaborate with the international education teams in
, the U.K. and
to connect U.S.-developed product to the international business and will partner with SVP and International Education Publisher,
, to bring Scholastic's growing international portfolio of products, currently being developed in
, to the U.S.

where she was Publisher from 1998 to 2000, to develop Scholastic's first online reading curriculum for teachers. Before joining Scholastic, she was also an editor, children's book specialist and high school teacher and was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award of
New South Wales
in 1995. Ms. Else-Mitchell earned her Masters degree at the
University of Sydney
and BA with Honors from Oxford University.
