Top gainers within the sector include T. Rowe Price Group ( TROW), up 4.5%, Royal Bank of Scotland Group (The ( RBS), up 3.7%, Lloyds Banking Group ( LYG), up 3.1%, MasterCard Incorporated ( MA), up 3.0% and American International Group ( AIG), up 3.0%.
