CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, Jan. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stripes® Convenience Stores announced today that it has raised more than $530,000 during the company's first ever in-store college scholarship campaign held in December 2013. The company will award $1,000 scholarships to 533 college-bound students in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma during the 2014-2015 academic year.
During the four-week campaign customers purchased $1 Stripes College Scholarship Fund paper cut-outs. The campaign was held at all Stripes locations throughout the Stripes' operating area and far exceeded the company's campaign goal of $400,000.

The scholarship awards will be selected and managed by the participating community colleges and universities enrolled in the scholarship program.
