Over his tenure at Mannatech, Dr. Sinnott has applied much of his formal training in the sciences, combined with his career experiences in industry and government, to develop and manage the company’s innovative product line. As CEO, he has applied many of these scientific disciplines in many other areas of the business as well. As quoted in the article, Dr. Sinnott says that, ideally, good business leaders and good scientists both possess creativity, intuition, innovation and the ability to analyze data and spot trends.
In the article, he looks at business from a scientifically objective viewpoint, discussing how many scientific concepts apply well to the direct selling business model.

He also connects psychological and environmental factors in business to factors that govern natural selection in the wild. Additionally, he observes how the principles of money flow in economics are similar to how energy flows in thermodynamics.
