ModusLink Global Solutions™ Inc. (NASDAQ: MLNK) today announced publication of its newest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report for fiscal year 2013. This report has been certified by the Global Reporting Initiative™ as having fulfilled all disclosures and requirements of Application Level C and is the second bi-annual report the Company has issued.
“We know that it isn’t enough to just talk about environmental stewardship, resource sustainability, labor standards and ethics in business,” said Scott Crawley, president of Global Operations at ModusLink. “These principles of responsible corporate action must be built into all of our systems and processes and in fact, our supply chain and logistics services very often help improve our clients’ sustainability efforts, as well.”
This newest report provides ModusLink’s stakeholders with details on goals and measurable results in the areas of waste and water management, energy consumption, conflict minerals and human resources, among others. Between the reporting periods of fiscal 2011 and 2013, ModusLink reduced energy and greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and total waste volumes across its global network of Solution Centers. The overall rate of recycling corporate-wide improved from 65 percent to 73 percent.
ModusLink’s CSR goals and actions are closely tied to those of its clients and the Company works in conjunction with some of the leading enterprises in the world—particularly in the high-tech and consumer electronics industries— to advance rigorous standards. The Company has worked with the Global Reporting Initiative to ensure the report follows industry standards in disclosure.Additional Resources
