The University Of Scranton Announces Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship Recipient

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The University of Scranton, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited university, has awarded a scholarship to a dedicated educator who is making a difference in the lives of others.

Christian Dickson received the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship for the Special Fall 2013, Part B session. He will receive a 25% savings on tuition through graduation as he pursues a Master of Science (MS) in Educational Administration.

By sharing his love of music, Dickson has positively impacted the lives of his students at Eisenhower Intermediate School in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Many of his fifth- and sixth-graders have progressed to the state's top-ranked Bridgewater-Raritan High School Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Marching Band, as well as to the New Jersey Youth Symphony.

Colleagues admire Dickson's leadership and passion for teaching. His energy, humor and innovative approach bring the music curriculum to life. Dickson said his reward comes in seeing students gain confidence through practice and performance.

"The University of Scranton is proud to congratulate Christian Dickson," said W. Jeffrey Welsh, PhD, Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. "His commitment to advancing his education will give him valuable skills to prepare his students for an ever-evolving future."

The Bisk Foundation scholarships support outstanding educators who are new students in The University of Scranton's MS in Educational Administration or MS in Curriculum and Instruction programs, which are offered 100% online.

Powered by University Alliance, a division of Bisk Education, the online programs offer video-based e-learning, including 24/7 access to streaming and downloadable lectures.

The scholarship application deadline for the Special Spring 2014, Part A session is Dec. 2, 2013. For more information or to apply, contact a representative at 855-300-1471 or visit http://www.uscranton.com/graduate-scholarships-teachers/.
