Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) announced today the start of its first “Virtual Visit” Telemedicine trial with Cleveland Clinic. TWCBC’s “Virtual Visit” solution is part of the company’s Home Health Monitoring strategy that enables healthcare providers to engage and interact with patients in their homes.
TWCBC’s Home Health Monitoring solutions help deliver high-quality care that is crucial to patients and cost-effective to providers. Utilizing the company’s robust network, the services provide a scalable, secure solution to help maximize patient satisfaction.
The “Virtual Visit” solution enables Cleveland Clinic healthcare professionals to deliver services remotely to a patient’s home, interacting through a television equipped with video conferencing technology. This allows the patient to speak and interact with the care provider using secure, encrypted, two-way video from the comfort of their home.
The service is offered as a fully contained, secure, bundled offering, which includes connectivity, installation and on-site equipment such as modems and video cameras. In addition, the solution provides technical support for patients in their homes.“Our healthcare solutions are designed to support medical providers looking to transform the delivery and quality of patient care by leveraging our advanced technology, operational scale and high speed network,” said Greg King, Senior Vice President and Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Time Warner Cable Business Class. TWCBC’s offerings include a wide range of communications and IT solutions geared towards helping healthcare providers deliver high-quality care to patients while managing costs and staying compliant with changing government regulations and mandates. Home Health Monitoring, which includes Telemedicine offerings like “Virtual Visit”, are new TWCBC solutions co-developed and trialed with key healthcare stakeholders to meet the emerging needs of the industry. "To truly transform the healthcare system of today and prepare us for the healthcare needs of tomorrow, we have to rethink how, and where, we deliver care to patients. We know that great care can be delivered where patients want to be most: in their homes, and we see telemedicine as a way to help us do that better and more efficiently," said Dr. Eiran Gorodeski, MD, Director of Center for Connected Care at Cleveland Clinic.
