In general, I'm being prompted to install or update features I have already installed or updated. And, the one app I need -- for my job -- practically every five minutes ... well, I can't access it. And Apple has done nothing but loop me, and others, in a circle of inanity.
Here's what happens when I go to open the iPhoto app that I thought I had already upgraded, along with my other various apps, when I switched to Mavericks.OK. Fine. Here's what I see when I go to the App Store. So, there, I'm being told I need to download Mavericks (already have), need to update iMovie (already did) and that I have the latest version of iPhoto installed (I don't). In fact, I can no longer even access the old version. So after leafing through various threads at Apple's discussion boards, I come across a link that, according to one user, will solve my problem. I can upgrade to the latest iPhoto like this. So I try. And #fail. Serenity now. Or one of these days. Maybe I'm missing something. I don't think I am, but, if I am, is this how Apple disseminates key information to its users -- by not disseminating it at all? Worse yet, how can Apple, the knower of all things, not even know what's downloaded, up to date or otherwise happening on my system? It gets my GPS-ed location and browsing behavior straight, though. No doubt. But, hey, at least Tim Cook has a Twitter account I can blow some steam off at.
this whole iPhoto fiasco really almost makes me want to turn in my iPhone and Apple fanboy card. This sucks @tim_cook Just sucks.— Rocco Pendola (@Rocco_TheStreet) November 5, 2013I sniff some of that Apple arrogance and poor customer service even AAPL investors lament (and worry) about from time to time.
