FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a task order to provide information technology (IT) management services in Afghanistan to support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Middle East District reconstruction and infrastructure-development programs. The task order was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services (ITES-2S) contract and has a potential value of $16 million over eighteen months if all options are exercised.

Under this task order, General Dynamics will install, manage and upgrade a variety of IT infrastructures and systems in Afghanistan. Additionally, General Dynamics experts will train users of unclassified systems and provide help-desk support services.
