Navigant announced today the opening of a new office in Doha, Qatar, established to provide sophisticated advisory, dispute and investigative services to the region.
“As development and implementation of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 gathers pace our clients are increasingly requesting support to help improve and protect project outcomes, particularly in the construction, petro-chemical, infrastructure and energy sectors,” said Lee Spirer, Executive Vice President and Global Business Leader at Navigant. “The scale of the National Vision is not simply about grand scale projects. It is also about education, health care, the environment and economic development; areas where Navigant can bring to bear its considerable expertise in shaping and delivering world class solutions.”
Michael Kenyon, who has been a Director in the firm’s Dubai office, has been appointed to lead the Doha office and serve as country manager. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Kenyon brings more than 25 years of commercial management and construction claims experience to Navigant’s Doha office. He has worked as both a consultant and contractor on a wide array of international projects ranging from oil and gas, petrochemical, off shore, building and civil engineering infrastructure projects. Kenyon is an experienced expert witness on matters of quantum and project disruption in the Middle East, UK and numerous other countries.
“We are excited to be expanding Navigant’s presence in the dynamic and rapidly growing Middle East region and to have Michael at the helm,” said David Tortorello, Practice Leader of Navigant’s Global Construction Practice. “The experienced construction industry professionals in our Doha office will be strategically positioned to support Qatar’s massive infrastructure development and our clients who are driving that growth.”
The opening of the Qatar office expands Navigant’s presence in the Middle East which was initiated in 2010 with the opening of Navigant’s Dubai office. Navigant has established particular expertise in the areas of damages, delay and disruption and liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure development in the Middle East.
