Siemens Selects Digital River SmartChannel Solution To Manage Subscription Sales Of Its Solid Edge Software

Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV) announced that Siemens PLM Software, a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, will use Digital River’s smartChannelSM ( http://bit.ly/15TbaGg) solution to manage the subscription sales of its Solid Edge ® software, the company’s mainstream computer-aided design (CAD) solution. The new monthly subscription option will initially be available in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan. In the United Kingdom the Solid Edge online store will be supported by Digital River’s marketForce interactive marketing agency.

“We look forward to working with Digital River to offer customers access to Solid Edge software on a monthly subscription basis,” said Karsten Newbury, Siemens PLM Software’s general manager and senior vice president of Mainstream Engineering Software. “Digital River provides us a global platform to make Solid Edge accessible to a wider audience, regardless of business size or budget.”

Siemens utilizes Digital River’s smartChannel solution, an automated online channel program designed to help e-merchants strengthen channel relationships, drive sales and ultimately increase end-customer satisfaction. The program offers end users a flexible and affordable way to purchase the Solid Edge CAD product on a monthly basis via standard payment mechanisms, such as credit card or PayPal. Customers also still benefit from the consulting and support of Siemens’ channel partners.
