ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Sept. 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EMCORE Corporation (Nasdaq:EMKR), a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the fiber optic and solar power markets, announced today that it intends to offer and sell, subject to market and other conditions, 2.5 million shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement. EMCORE intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the amount of common stock offered. The Company plans to use any proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes.
