NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- The Dow Jones Industrial Index components will rotate for the first time in a year.
Nike (NKE - Get Report), Visa (V - Get Report) and Goldman Sachs (GS - Get Report) will replace Alcoa (AA), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ - Get Report) and Bank of America (BAC - Get Report), respectively, on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P Dow Jones Indices said in a statement. The changes will be effective as trading opens on Sept. 23.
Alcoa's removal comes more than 54 years after it first entered the index in 1959 as Aluminum Company of America. Bank of America has remained in the index for five years, while H-P first listed on the Dow Jones in March 1997.-- Written by Joe Deaux in New York. >Contact by Email. Follow @JoeDeaux
