PIS 2013's Opening Encompassing Cutting-Edge Combined Functional & Eco-Friendly Textile

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The exhibition, 'Preview in Seoul 2013 (PIS)' hosted by Korea Federation of Textile Industry opened on September 4 at Hall B, 1F, COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul, Korea.

PIS continued from the 4th to the 6 of September with 410 booths and 251 participating companies. PIS has been showing new textile materials for the future growth engines and creating opportunities for discussions between business partners; so that the exhibition's importance is growing.

The exhibition focused on introducing various and differentiated functional and eco-friendly textiles, as well as patented materials. Many submitted products satisfied functionality, eco-friendliness, and reinforced fashion characteristics. Moreover, despite the worsening global recession, the exhibition's competitiveness increases. That explains the participation of 69 famous textile companies from 10 nations to enter in Korean market.

The federation's managing director stated, "This year's PIS will show various leading materials of textile business." "We will find realistic measures to hold the leadership based on these materials in the future textile business," he added.

Festival of New Outdoor, SPA and Luxury Materials!

Functional materials including moisture proof laminating materials, heat insulation, high-density thin fabrics, and UV blocking materials were amplified in this exhibition.

Seo Jin Textile, Ja In Textile, YMK, Shin Heung and Young Textile led the trend with their memory materials using NP Conjugated Filament. For eco-textiles, companies tried to enter the global market by materials with international certifications, reflecting the strengthening environmental regulation. Not only organic material companies but also functional fabric companies were active to reinforce their marketing through eco-friendliness certifications.

Also, various recent hit fashion materials were introduced. Various post-processed fabrics were among them.

The competitiveness of international participants was reinforced, too. Austria's Lenzing mainly introducing its eco-friendly new materials participated in the exhibition for three consecutive years. Everest, a Taiwanese company specialized for overall functional textiles, and Toyobo Japan, a leader in the development of new synthetic composite material, participated for the first time.

41 Chinese textile companies including JIANGSU HENGLI CHEMICAL FIBER participated to enter into Korean market. Various companies from Turkey, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, etc. showed embroidery fabrics to outdoor functional materials, and demonstrated their price competitiveness as well the quality and technology.

Additional Events to See, Hear and Feel

"Trend Forum Hall" showing participants' various materials and the newest trends suggested buyers the possibilities in using various materials, and is reinforced its index and visual functions through: composing patent materials, collaboration (material company + designer), fashion products, and Small Order Zone.
