Humana.com is the place to go for useful health insurance information, according to Forrester Research. The global research and advising firm rated Humana Inc.’s (NYSE:HUM) website as the Best Prepared Website for Health Insurance Shoppers in their 2013 US Health Industry Plan Online Sales Rankings.
In the report, Forrester evaluated health insurance websites for their usability, content and functionality, and Humana’s came out on top.
“We’ve long been dedicated to listening to individuals and helping people make more informed health care decisions,” explained Beth Bierbower, President of Humana’s Employer Group segment. “We redesigned our website just a few months ago with an intense focus on presenting powerful information tools in a simple, easy-to-use format.”
Overall, Humana’s website outperformed similar websites of this type with a score of 13 percent better than the average.
“With its new and visually appealing website, Humana scored 65 out of 100, earning the highest overall score among the seven insurers we evaluated,” stated the Forrester ranking report. “While other sites perform well in individual categories, Humana stands out for combining a good user experience with a strong application process, but the site scored well in most categories.”
One of the more powerful sections of Humana’s website is “Health Care For You,” accessed at
, which explains health care coverage through a character-driven experience focused on baby boomers, families with children and young independents.
