CLEARWATER, Fla., Aug. 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced its partnership with
AirVM Inc., a leader in commercialization for VMware clouds, to offer AirSembly through its TDCloud business unit. AirSembly, powered by AirVM, offers sophisticated white-label infrastructure, enabling resellers to cost-effectively brand, sell, and manage their own customized catalog of cloud services. The announcement was made in conjunction with the company's TDCloud Partner Summit, being held this week at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island Hotel in Tampa, Florida.
"The TDCloud team has worked closely with AirVM to deploy a cloud services platform to meet the needs of our channel partners," said Bharath Natarajan, director, Product Marketing, TDCloud and Software Services at Tech Data. "AirVM's platform and infrastructure provides a selection of managed cloud services to our solution providers, giving them the ability to further customize their catalog of services, providing a seamless way to offer cloud solutions to their end users."
Tech Data will offer AirVM's Cloud Delivery and Commercialization Platform, built on the strength of VMware's virtualization infrastructure, providing solution providers with a new set of services under the
Hosted AirSembly brand. As businesses move their IT applications to the cloud, the Hosted AirSembly service is equipped to address their needs and capture new cloud service revenues. Hosted AirSembly is ideal for resellers looking to sell cloud services and increase their revenues without having to heavily invest upfront in infrastructure.
"For decades, SMBs and enterprises have purchased their traditional IT products and services from VARs," said Joshua Vautour, chief executive officer at AirVM. "Hosted AirSembly, powered by AirVM, enables Tech Data partners to customize and sell cloud services off AirVM's robust carrier-grade VMware cloud, all while alleviating the challenge and expense of deploying and managing their own infrastructure. These services can be anything from bare bones virtual machines, customized Microsoft applications, or a suite of vertical specific applications. From start to finish, a Tech Data channel partner can build their own branded storefront, build their customized cloud service, and deploy IT services to their customers in less than ten minutes."
