HOUSTON, TEXAS, Aug. 7, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Halcón Resources Corporation (NYSE: HK) ("Halcón" or the "Company") today announced that, subject to market conditions, it intends to offer $300 million in aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2022. Halcón intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay a portion of the outstanding borrowings under its senior secured revolving credit facility, which has been, and will continue to be, drawn upon to partially fund acquisitions of both leasehold and producing properties in core areas.
The offering will be made only to qualified institutional buyers pursuant to Rule 144A and to certain persons in offshore transactions pursuant to Regulation S, each under the Securities Act of 1933 (the "Securities Act"), as amended.
