ReachLocal, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLOC), a leader in local online marketing and commerce solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced a partnership with Yelp (NYSE: YELP), the company that connects consumers with great local businesses. Beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, users of
ReachCommerce, ReachLocal’s recently introduced online booking and buying system, will have the exclusive ability in the home services category to automatically integrate booking functionality into their Yelp profiles. Yelp visitors will be able to book appointments in real-time, directly through the site, which had a monthly average of 102 million unique visitors in Q1 2013 (according to Google Analytics).
“We are excited to welcome home services professionals using ReachCommerce into Yelp Platform, the new way to transact on Yelp,” says Yelp Vice President of Business Development Mike Ghaffary. “Beginning later this year, consumers will be able to book appointments in real-time with home services providers ranging from movers and repairmen, to contractors and interior designers.”
“We view this partnership with Yelp as tremendous acceleration of our local commerce strategy we announced earlier this year,” said Zorik Gordon, ReachLocal’s co-founder and CEO. “The home services market will invariably undergo the kind of offline to online transformation the restaurant and travel industries have already experienced. Leveraging the power of Yelp Platform is one of the many ways ReachCommerce can help local service providers ensure they prosper in an era of digital transformation.”
ReachCommerce, which is scheduled to roll out nationally by the end of the year, provides SMBs with a SaaS management platform to automate and digitize their entire customer experience, all back-office operations, and marketing activities. Local service providers may use the system on their desktops and mobile tablets for everything related to online booking (appointment setting, scheduling, and notification) and buying (estimating, invoicing, and paying) to optimize operations and deliver a better customer experience. ReachCommerce allows business operators to build and manage schedules, assign and track technicians, communicate with customers, generate estimates and invoices, process payments, and provide business intelligence and reporting.
