MELVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:FALC), a market leader in disk-based data protection and storage virtualization, today announced that the company has been qualified as an HP AllianceONE CloudSystem Ready partner and is working with HP and mutual channel partners to offer joint FalconStor
® Network Storage Server (NSS) solutions that allow HP CloudSystem to fully automate provisioning with a wide variety of third-party storage systems.
FalconStor has developed the Storage Provisioning Manager (SPM) adapter for FalconStor NSS, which enables HP CloudSystem Matrix to employ FalconStor's storage virtualization gateway technology for automatic provisioning and management of any storage system on FalconStor's extensive hardware compatibility list. Part of the HP CloudSystem portfolio, HP CloudSystem Matrix is designed for infrastructure-as-a-service for private and hybrid cloud environments. The solution includes a self-service portal for automatic storage provisioning and lifecycle management capabilities that optimize infrastructure, manage resources and help ensure uptime.
"With qualification for the HP CloudSystem Ready program, FalconStor has expanded its partnership with HP and taken another significant step into the cloud computing arena, for which our solutions are well suited," said Bernie Wu, executive vice president of business development for FalconStor. "FalconStor pioneered storage virtualization for heterogeneous environments with the FalconStor NSS solution, which now will work seamlessly with HP CloudSystem to provide more choice, flexibility and economy for HP customers."
The SPM adapter for FalconStor NSS, which will be generally available in September, is fully integrated with SPM's ability to perform service-based, on-demand automated storage provisioning to requested services. It allows any iSCSI or Fiber Channel storage array managed by the FalconStor NSS solution to be recognized, imported and provisioned by HP CloudSystem without the need for additional storage vendor-specific SPM adapters.
"Organizations looking to build and manage services across private and hybrid cloud environments need infrastructure support that can simplify provisioning and management of storage," said Doug Oathout, vice president, Global Marketing Partner Channel, Alliances and Original Equipment Manufacturers, HP. "FalconStor's participation in the AllianceOne CloudSystem Ready Program provides customers and partners who are building hybrid cloud solutions based on HP CloudSystem, with expanded storage support for a variety of customer storage environments."
