Voltari Corporation (NSDQ: VLTC), an innovator in data driven solutions for smart marketing and advertising, announces the hiring of DMP ad tech industry veteran Michael Rock to lead their Data Management Platform initiatives. Rock will spearhead the ongoing innovation and technical development of the company’s big data management platform, ensuring cross channel capabilities that include mobile, desktop, and interactive television.
"Our sophisticated predictive models depend on a Data Management Platform that is not only horizontally scalable, but can process and pre-analyze tens of millions of signals per hour. Michael has first-hand experience in developing DMP's that go well beyond data storage and organization. His expertise and ideas surrounding in-flight data mining and synthesis will significantly improve the real-time delivery of our scorecards while enhancing the granularity of our engagement models across mobile, desktop, and interactive television,” said Dr. David Castillo, CTO of Voltari.
Rock joins Voltari as a 19-year veteran in design and implementation of high-performance, highly scalable software systems. Before using Big Data was the norm for marketers, Michael specialized in this nascent field as an early pioneer. He has been the principal data engineer for numerous startups in the online ad delivery space – including FetchBack (eBay), iCrossing (now Hearst) and Adhesive.co – helping each of them address complicated issues to drive incremental revenue growth and take a position as market leaders. Michael joins Voltari at a time of great expansion, as the company serves more brands, across more industry segments, with increasingly complex questions to ask and answer.
“Coming from the desktop advertising space, I am thrilled to join Voltari and to utilize my experiences to drive and expand our offerings in mobile,” said Rock. “It’s an exciting time to be involved with Voltari, a company with such a proven foundation already in place. I look forward to playing my part in advancing the existing platform to even greater levels of capability that will help us take the next leap forward with all our brand clients.”
