Colorado residents can “score one for the environment” on Sunday, Aug. 11, by recycling electronic devices at the Mile High Electronics Recycling Event hosted by Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) in partnership with Comcast, the City and County of Denver Public Works/Denver Recycles and Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Participants will have the opportunity to meet past Broncos football players and visit with Broncos cheerleaders while legally, securely and cost-effectively disposing of electronics ranging from computers and mobile devices to televisions and gaming systems through environmentally and socially responsible means, drawing from Arrow’s leadership in electronic asset recovery solutions for businesses around the world.
The drive-through-style event will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Appointments are required to drop off electronics, with fees of $5 per vehicle for all accepted items including one “screen” (television or monitor) and $10 for each additional screen. These fees represent a significant discount from standard electronics recycling fees. Items that will be accepted include home office machines, mobile devices, computer hardware and peripherals, television and gaming equipment and small appliances such as microwaves.
“As a leader in IT asset disposition solutions for companies around the world, Arrow is sponsoring the Mile High Electronics Recycling Event to give residents in our home state the opportunity to securely dispose of unwanted or inoperable electronics,” said Mark Majeske, president, global reverse logistics, of Englewood, Colo., -based Arrow. “Donated items will have all data removed and may be repurposed for charitable donations or recycled through methods that ensure hazardous materials are never incinerated, exported to developing countries or sent to landfills.”
