The Dow component leading the way higher looks to be Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), which is sporting a 28-cent gain (+1.1%) bringing the stock to $26.06. This single gain is lifting the Dow Jones Industrial Average by 2.12 points or roughly accounting for 4.1% of the Dow's overall gain. Volume for Hewlett-Packard currently sits at 386,781 shares traded vs. an average daily trading volume of 16.6 million shares.

Hewlett-Packard has a market cap of $49.51 billion and is part of the technology sector and computer hardware industry. Shares are up 80.9% year to date as of Tuesday's close. The stock's dividend yield sits at 2.3%.

Hewlett-Packard Company and its subsidiaries provide products, technologies, software, solutions, and services to individual consumers, small-and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and large enterprises, including customers in the government, health, and education sectors worldwide.

TheStreet Ratings rates Hewlett-Packard as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance and good cash flow from operations. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including deteriorating net income, generally higher debt management risk and disappointing return on equity.

Holding back the Dow today is Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), which is lagging the broader Dow index with an 18-cent decline (-0.6%) bringing the stock to $29.49. Volume for Pfizer currently sits at 962,833 shares traded vs. an average daily trading volume of 62.5 million shares.

Pfizer has a market cap of $208.72 billion and is part of the health care sector and drugs industry. Shares are up 18.3% year to date as of Tuesday's close. The stock's dividend yield sits at 3.2%.

Pfizer Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, discovers, develops, manufactures, and sells medicines for people and animals worldwide.

TheStreet Ratings rates Pfizer as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in stock price during the past year, impressive record of earnings per share growth, compelling growth in net income, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures and reasonable valuation levels. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows weak operating cash flow.
