Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), a pioneer in wearable technology, today announced the availability of the CS500™ XD Series, designed to maximize office space without compromising audio quality. When many wireless headsets are used in an office environment, the “density”, or concentration of these headsets, can cause interference or "crosstalk". Now with the CS500 XD series, businesses do not have to abandon their more convenient wireless telephone headsets and move back to traditional corded headset models.
“In the age of open office environments and real estate densification, making calls from wireless headsets can result in audio quality issues due to the limits of various wireless technologies,” said Bill Loewenthal, vice president of enterprise solutions at Plantronics. “The CS500 XD addresses these issues by giving companies the ability to utilize different wireless frequencies to prevent audio interference and expanding the maximum number of people that can be on calls simultaneously.”
CS500 XD Wireless Headset Series – Solves Real World Issues
The CS500 XD Series uses the 900 MHz wireless frequency and is available only in North America. Combining this technology with other wireless devices, such as the Plantronics CS500 or Savi® Series DECT™ headsets, can dramatically increase the number of headsets that can be used concurrently in the same area. The new CS500 XD Series is already being implemented with great results across leading enterprise companies.A prominent financial service company was one of the first customers to adopt the new CS500 XD wireless headset to solve issues with wireless frequencies in a dense office environment. This company had a problem with its loan agents and managers being heard clearly by customers. More than 300 loan agents and managers sit together in a 17,000 square foot area, all busily making customer calls and striving to exceed their needs and expectations. They found they could only use 100 wireless headsets simultaneously within close range without experiencing numerous audio complaints from customers. After switching to the CS500 XD headsets, more than 300 users can simultaneously enjoy crystal clear audio when communicating with their customers.
